Baritone Chord Focus - Asus4

Relax... This week's BCF is going to be much easier but we're still going to explore an more unusual chord.

The chord to learn this week is Asus4.

If we compare this chord to its major counterpart, we begin to have a better understanding of the sus4 chord.

The major chord consists of the root, 3rd and 5th note of the scale whereas the sus4 chord takes the root, 4th and 5th note of the scale.

Therefore if the A major scale is - A, B, C#, D, E, F# and G, the A major chord will be: Root: A, 3rd: C#, 5th: E. The Asus4 chord would be: Root: A, 4th: D, 5th: E.

The chord sequence for this is:

The song to learn with this chord is Stay Young by Maisie Peters.
